Multiple Names

I have many different names, but my real name is Pei Pei. My parents chose this name for me, and they say my name means I am the favorite child. Actually, I do not really like this name because it sounds like a woman’s name. Chinese families who live in Indonesia do not have middle names. We only have last names that usually come from our family. My last name is Au Jong, which comes from my father’s family. Since I am Catholic, I also have my baptismal name Paulus that I got it when I was a baby. A priest chose it for me. The name was taken from one of the apostles. Another name that I have is for business. I have my own business that sells electronics, especially satellite antennas. My business partners and my customers call me Andi. It is an Indonesian native name, and it is the name of a nobleman in Sulawesi. I chose this name myself. I like this name because it sounds like a powerful person. In my opinion, using the right name in the right place can have a good impact.

  2. I really agree with what you said "using the right name in the right place can have a good impact." After I use my English name instead my origin name at work, it helps me avoid to be called nickname and people can be more easily remember me. Therefore, my work is smoother and easier.
