The Tencent technological revolution is like a knot between the members of my family because it closed the distance between us and deepened our relationship. Tencent developed QQ and Wechat in the last ten years, and QQ is Tencent’s first popular chat app. It was mainly used on the computer when it first appeared. As the development of the smartphone, Wechat appeared and it became more popular than QQ. Both QQ and Wechat are the great revolution of Tencent’s technology, and they symbolize the progress of last years. Besides, this revolution also had great influence on my family. It saved my family and closed the relationship between my family members. In my heart, the revolution not only means the progress of the time but also means a knot that ties our family members together.

Due to the function of chatting online, QQ strengthened the communication and deepened the feelings between my father and my brother and me. When my brother was one year old, my father went to Canada for business, and he went back to China after 4 years. During the time my father was not by our side. We communicated with him by cellphone at first. In this way, we couldn’t know my father well, especially my baby brother. My family was eager to see my father, and hoped to know whether he was healthy and happy. My baby brother wished to see my father’s face, not just his voice. After QQ’s appearance, my father could connect to us whenever he wanted to see us. My little brother could understand his father more and felt closer to him than before. We really appreciated QQ due to its convenience. If QQ had never been created, we might have lost the close feelings between the father and his son and daughter.

It is no exaggeration to say that Wechat’s great convenience saved my parents’ marriage. My father started to lose his enthusiasm for my mother due to the time difference and the long distance. Connecting to each other by QQ didn’t satisfy their requirement anymore because QQ was mainly used on the computer, and it was inconvenient to carry around a computer. As a result, it caused the inconvenience of connection. My parents often live in different places after they got married, and I think their relationship wasn’t strong enough due to that reason. The lack of strong enough relationship between a couple who lives in different countries may cause the couple to break up or betray their feelings. At that time, my father fell in love with another woman for a short time until he “woke up” and realized my mother was his true love. I think Wechat played a great role in their marriage. During the time that my father betrayed my mother, my parents had talked with each other often. They talked about their feelings and the reason why my father betrayed my mother and tried to abandon his family. They started to communicate their feelings often by Wechat so that they could contact each other regardless of where they are. They could show their real feelings at that time. They could accompany each other when they were on the way home or workplace. Therefore, they loyal to each other but not another woman or man. During these four years, Wechat saved my parants’s marriage and our family, and I wouldn’t have a happy family now if Wechat had never been created.

The benefits of Wechat continue to nowadays, and it still has a great effect on our family. After my whole family came to Chicago, we connected to our relatives most of the time by Wechat because it is simple and convenient. When my grandparents miss us, they can click on a few buttons and see our faces. When festivals arrive, the elders can send the lucky money to us by Wechat. In China, lucky money means a symbol of the atmosphere of festival. Though we can send or get the lucky money face to face, we also can do it by Wechat. In this way, it seems that we are not absent for the festivals. My mother like playing mahjong and so does my aunt. After my mother came to Chicago, she often play the mahjong online by Wechat game with my aunt. I still remember my mother said that my aunt told her, “I feel you are still by my side, and I don’t feel you are far away me when we having the video call and playing mahjong on Wechat .” Wechat has had great effect on our family regardless of the past or now. It closes the feelings between our families and shortens the distance that we stay.

Details determine success or failure. The great influence of a technological revolution is not only reflected in its reputation but also reflected in most people’s feedback, like the feedback of each family. QQ and Wechat, these two apps are the great point of Tencent technological revolution, and they are also the knot between my family members. This revolution closed the feelings between my father and my little brother and me, saved my parents’ marriage, and shortened the heart distance between the people who live in different places.
