Wanling He

Stories about My Name
            My name is Wanling He and I come from the south of China. I live a harmonious family, but now I want to talk about my name. First, my last name comes from my father. This is not very special thing in China. Second, my name is common in my hometown and the whole country because many people  are called Wanling. Even though my name is simple, I want to say something special about it. Wanling is two characters. Wan translated into English means bowl, so many children make fun of me because of it. Next, my mother told me that Ling came from my cousin. In addition, my name is easy to say in Chinese, and it has some good meanings even though I do not know all of them. My parents tell me that they hope me to be a well- informed child. In conclusion, my name is not special, but it is a gift from my parents. Although some people may laugh at it, it is the blessing of my parents.

    To be honest, there are some of my friends called Wanling. They got the same experience as you had. Wan can be meant a nice, gentle and elegant lady in the past? In my opinion, no matter what the real meaning is, we know we can do our best from the best meaning.

    I think you are a little negative about your name. Wan do not mean a bowl, it has many other meanings. I never saw Wan in a name means a bowl. If it's true, then your name is special.

    Hi Wanling, this is a beautiful name. this 碗 means a bowl, but this 婉 means gentle beautiful and elegant. When we were little, there were always some mean kids making fun of our names. My name is Juan, but some kids called me "brick" because these two words are pronounced the same way.

    Hello Wanling, all parents have expectation for their kids. Chinese characters have a long history to its meaning. We are lucky to have be given names that is meaningful and beautiful.
